Archilecture is dedicated to organizing all aspects of lecture planning, curating in-depth discussions that incorporate fresh and innovative attempts unique to Archilecture. We create opportunities for university students to ask pressing questions about architecture, seek answers, and document these insights. Through our inquiries, we weave together current architectural discourses and topics actively debated among students, forming a cohesive theme for our events. Ultimately, our goal is to establish a tight-knit network between students and architects, fostering meaningful connections.
Archilecture selects a theme for each semester and invites speakers to conduct three lectures per term. In the previous semesters, we organized lectures under the themes “What’s Next?” and “Prototype.” Over the past year, we hosted a total of nine lectures, including Archilecture-planned talks, special lectures, and guest lectures by professors from the Hongik University School of Architecture.
During semester breaks, we engage in networking activities such as New Year gatherings and site visits. Additionally, we archive past lectures and plan upcoming ones. We also produce an archival book called Jjaturi, which includes post-lecture discussions with speakers, pre-event interviews, and key takeaways from each lecture.
Archilecture is structured into three departments—Operations, Promotions, and Planning—each working collaboratively to bring our vision to life. Every member's contribution is deeply embedded in our activities.
- The Operations Team lays the foundation for our society by handling lecture preparations, on-site management, and budget administration.
- The Promotions Team crafts posters, videos, and social media content to enhance Archilecture’s public presence.
- The Planning Team plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of our lectures, from selecting themes to refining detailed plans.
Members grow through hands-on experiences, whether it’s successfully wrapping up their first lecture, designing compelling promotional materials, or conducting insightful interviews with external speakers. Archilecture’s open and dynamic environment encourages members to take on new challenges, interact with professionals, and gain diverse perspectives on architecture. Like a flashlight illuminating unseen dimensions of architecture, Archilecture is defined by the stories we create together and the knowledge we uncover.
Moving forward, Archilecture aims to broaden its scope by curating lectures on a wider range of topics, offering members fresh perspectives on architecture. We plan to invite more external experts, expand field visits, and establish regular academic activities that balance theoretical and practical experiences. Additionally, we will foster an environment where members collaborate and grow together, encouraging them to refine their skills and exchange ideas. Through these initiatives, Archilecture will continue to provide enriching academic experiences and expand opportunities for members to deepen their expertise in the field of architecture.
